the mexican firing squad cocktail - Wortman - anejo

If you’re looking to increase your odds in the new year, you can’t go wrong enjoying some not so humble pomegranate, as it covers most of the beneficial bases: health (heart + fertility), prosperity and abundance. Look at all those seeds! In The Mexican Firing Squad, a cocktail decked out in holiday red, Josh Wortman of Añejo (an awesome tequileria in the Hell’s Kitchen section of NYC) pairs earthy blanco by Casa Noble with housemade grenadine, kissed with a taste of chocolate. Be still our bitters loving hearts!

  1. […] The Mexican Firing Squad is a cocktail with a pomegranate base. Pomegranate is beneficial to one’s health but is also a symbol of prosperity and abundance. The recipe comes by way of Josh Wortman and is definitely a lucky charm. It mixes Noble Crystal silver with Grenadine, fresh lime juice, and mole/chocolate bitters. All of the ingredients get poured and mixed into a shaker with ice. Once the mixture is shaken, it is strained into a chili-salt rimmed glass over fresh ice. A lime garnish is added and voila! Buena suerte in a glass! Check the full recipe on Larks and Japes. […]
